The body of a minor girl was recovered by the police on august 27 from a ditch in gayaganga tea estate following which the uncle of the victim was arrested as the prime accused in the case. However, families residing in the labor lines of gayaganga tea estate and the family of the victim feel that the police to cover up their investigation had arrested the wrong person. The accused, they believe, is not capable of murdering the victim and the family knew him well enough. United forum for adivasi rights spokesperson said that the police has arrested the wrong person to cover up their investigation as they could not come out with the actual culprit of the crime.
