Death after vaccination

A female student fell ill after receiving the rubella vaccine at school and later expired at the Siliguri district hospital yesterday. Doctors tried a lot but couldn’t save her. The victim was vaccinated at the Shyamdhan Jot High School in Batasi of Kharibari block on Monday. Annanya Sarkar, an eighth grader, fell ill after being vaccinated against measles and rubella that day. It is reported that 30 minutes after she was vaccinated, she suddenly fell ill just outside the school when she was returning home. She was immediately taken to the local hospital by the school staff and was later referred to the Siliguri district hospital where she died at 4 pm yesterday.
